Years ago, a spectacular stretch of coast captivated designer-builder Gilles Saint-Gilles’ imagination. Enamored by the way the site's hills - as golden as Africa in the dry season, and greener than Tuscany in the wet - played with the sparking blue Pacific, Gilles knew he had found his place.
With patience and dedication anachronistic in our hurried age, Gilles and his team of European craftsmen began building on-site workshops and training local artisans in generations-old skills. At the same time, Gilles began to restore the Tropical Dry Forest eco-system that originally existed in the province, providing wildlife habitat and hardwoods for the coming years.
Now, with trees growing and craftsmen trained, Gilles has opened Azueros to a select group of purchasers who understand the value of balancing beauty and ecology.
Geography ordains Panama as an ecological, cultural and historical crossroad of the World; a meeting point of old and new, East and West, North and South. The New York Times recently praised Panama for its “embarrassment of wildlife and natural beauty” and New York Magazine called the country “the latest eco-playground with panache”.
To the growing number of people choosing to live and vacation in Panama, the country’s relative obscurity is unfathomable in light of its attributes. As the New York Times observed, parts of Panama are “undeniably first-world” and the country is “much more user friendly than other developing nations ” given that many people speak English; the United States dollar is the official currency; the drinking water is clean; the government is stable; there are good hotels and crime is low”.
Azueros is located at the southern tip of Panama’s Azuero Peninsula, about five miles outside the town of Pedasi. The Azuero Peninsula is often compared to Costa Ricas’ most desirable region, the Guanacaste province, for its friendly locals, attractive weather and strong Spanish colonial heritage.
One of Panama’s driest regions, the Azuero Peninsula has just two seasons, one golden and dry, the other green and lush. In the golden season (December-May) you will find clear blue skies and crisp offshore breezes, while in the green season (June-November) you can expect intermittent rain and sun to bring out the lushness for which Panama is so famous.
The quickest way to access the site from Panama City is by by a 40-minute flight to the 3,000-foot runway in the town of Pedasi (a 15-minute drive from Azueros).

BY LAND
Azueros is approximately 4 hours from Panama City by car. It is a lovely drive over very good roads.
INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS
There are direct international flights to Panama City from major US and European cities, including Miami , New York , Los Angeles , Houston , Orlando , Atlanta and Madrid . Direct connections to Latin America include: Buenos Aires , Caracas , San Juan , Lima , Guayaquil , Bogota , Cartagena , San Jose and Havana , among others.
Project Size and Scope. The Community consists of a main 357 hectare (882 acre) site. Over $17 million has been spent developing the Azueros Community to date, with a total estimated development cost of over $60 million.
Site Description. The site is a former cattle ranch, the predominant features of which are rolling hills that culminate at the Pacific Ocean in a series of cliffs, coves and beaches. The site has approximately 600 meters of beachfront and overlooks a total of approximately five kilometers of coast. Several creeks flow through the site.
